Traits
Feathers (Rare)
The Insectoplant has feathers resembling those of a bird covering all or some of their body.
NOTE:
If feathers are only present on the wings of the Insectoplant, such as by having the Non-Insectoid Wings trait, this trait is not necessary. This trait only applies to feathers present on the body
Alternate Types Show
Odd Limbs (Rare)
The Insectoplant has limbs that do not resemble paws or human-like limbs and do not fall under any other limb trait descriptions. This can include things like hooves, tentacles, avian limbs, or dinosaur-like limbs.
NOTE:
When giving a Scoutopod hooves or avian limbs, please use the Hooves / Avian Feet trait instead. When giving a Brewmoth or Toxislug avian limbs, please use Avian Feet instead. When giving a Brewmoth any other sort of Odd Limbs, please select the trait with their subspecies name included.
Alternate Types Show
-
Hooves / Avian Feet (Mutation)
Species: Scoutopod
The Insectoplant has hooves resembling those of an ungulate and/or avian-like limbs. This may make it harder for the Insectoplant to swim effectively.
NOTE:
This trait only applies to Scoutopods. For any other subspecies, this falls under Odd Limbs.
-
Odd Limbs (Mutation)
Species: Brewmoth
Unusual Body / Body Parts (Rare)
The Insectoplant is physically made up of something unusual or unnatural. This can mean their entire body is, just a part of the body is, or something unusual and unnatural is attached to them. This can include inanimate objects, non-biological materials, and plant body parts,
Note:
Clothes, accessories, and props only need to be counted as Unusual Body / Body Parts if they are a physical, non-removable part of the Insectoplant’s body. In the case of a Snowphid having crystals or minerals growing out of their body, Crystal / Mineral Growth is used instead.
Transparent Body / Flesh (Rare)
The Insectoplant is either entirely see-through or has parts of their body that are. This can range from being entirely transparent to being nearly opaque. They may optionally be able to change their transparency level or entirely “turn it off.”
Alternate Types Show
-
Transparent Body / Flesh (Uncommon)
Species: Toxislug
Objects in Body (Rare)
The Insectoplant has something unnatural inside of their body, such as objects, materials, or unnatural fluids. This can include objects partially embedded in the body and sticking out, as long as they are somewhat inside of the body.
Note:
If these objects are only visible through a “window” into the body, the Insectoplant must also have Transparent Body / Flesh.
Multiple Body Parts (Rare)
The Insectoplant has more of a body part than one would normally have, such as by having two heads, two mouths, two tails, or four wings. The extra body parts can be placed anywhere on the body as long as they do not resemble another trait that the Insectoplant does not have.
Note:
If there are more than the average amount of arms or legs, please use Multiple Arms / Legs instead. In the case of Brewmoths having more than the average amount of wings, please use Multiple Wings instead.
Avian Feet (Rare)
The Insectoplant has legs and/or feet resembling those of a bird.
Note:
This trait only applies to Brewmoths, Toxislugs, and Scoutopods. For any other subspecies, this falls under Odd Limbs.
Alternate Types Show
-
Avian Feet (Uncommon)
Species: Brewmoth
-
Avian Feet (Mutation)
Species: Toxislug
-
Avian Feet (Mutation)
Species: Scoutopod
Bioluminescence (Rare)
The Insectoplant can naturally glow. This can mean the entire Insectoplant glows, or only specific parts of their body do. They may optionally be able to change the intensity of their glow or entirely “turn it off.”
Alternate Types Show
-
Bioluminescence (Uncommon)
Species: Scoutopod
Slimy / Gooey / Sticky Body Parts (Rare)
The Insectoplant is slimy, gooey, and/or sticky on all or some of its body.
Note:
If this sliminess, gooiness, or stickiness is caused due to the Insectoplant physically including an unnatural material with that texture, such as honey, the Insectoplant must also have Unusual Body / Body Parts and/or Objects in Body.
Alternate Types Show
-
Slimy / Gooey / Sticky Body Parts (Common)
Species: Toxislug
-
Slimy / Gooey / Sticky Body Parts (Mutation)
Species: Brewmoth

Species: Snowphid
Centipede Tail (Rare)
Alternate Types Show
-
Centipede Tail (Uncommon)
Species: Snowphid
Moving Markings / Color Change (Rare)
The Insectoplant can change the appearance and locations of their markings and/or colors.
Gills / Underwater Breathing (Rare)

-
Gills / Underwater Breathing (Mandatory)
Species: Scoutopod
-
Gills / Underwater Breathing (Uncommon)
Species: Toxislug
