Pupula Duplex (Mutation)

Category: Head

The Insectoplant has two or more pupils in a single eye.

Venom Glands (AT) (Mandatory)

Category: Head
Species: Aratela

The Insectoplant has large glands that produce venom, which can be used to paralyze and catch prey. These hold fangs, which can be tucked into the mouth at will. Venom Glands may be any shape.

Note:

This trait only applies to Aratelas.

Multiple Eyes

Multiple Eyes (Common)

Category: Head

The Insectoplant has 3 or more eyes on their body. The additional eyes may be anywhere on the body as long as they do not resemble other traits that the Insectoplant does not have.

Beetle Wings

Beetle Wings (Common)

Category: Wings

The Insectoplant has long, rounded wings with optional venation patterns, resembling the wings of beetles.

Alternate Types
Mantle (TS)

Mantle (TS) (Common)

Category: Wings
Species: Toxislug

The Insectoplant has a mantle on their back, which resembles a normal Insectoplant backpack but is instead fleshy with a lip and pocket. They resemble the mantles of slugs. Wings may still come out of Mantles if the Insectoplant has them.

Note:

This trait only applies to Toxislugs.

Multiple Wings (BM)

Multiple Wings (BM) (Mandatory)

Category: Wings
Species: Brewmoth

The Insectoplant has more than one set of wings. Additional sets of wings can be placed anywhere on the body.

Note:

This trait only applies to Brewmoths. If any other subspecies has multiple sets of wings, it falls under Multiple Body Parts instead.

Dragonfly Wings

Dragonfly Wings (Uncommon)

Category: Wings

The Insectoplant has long, thin, rounded wings in a set of four with optional venation patterns, resembling the wings of dragonflies.

Alternate Types
Moth Wings

Moth Wings (Uncommon)

The Insectoplant has scaly wings with a connected forewing and hindwing, resembling the wings of moths. They may also have “tail extensions” on their hindwings.

Alternate Types
Bee Wings

Bee Wings (Uncommon)

Category: Wings

The Insectoplant has small, stubby, rounded wings with optional venation patterns, resembling the wings of bees.

Alternate Types
Butterfly Wings

Butterfly Wings (Uncommon)

The Insectoplant has scaly wings with a connected forewing and hindwing, resembling the wings of butterflies. They may also have “tail extensions” on their hindwings.

Alternate Types
Snail Shell

Snail Shell (Uncommon)

The Insectoplant has a curled shell where their backpack would be, resembling the shell of a snail. Wings may still come out of Snail Shells if the Insectoplant has them.

Alternate Types
No Wings

No Wings (Rare)

Category: Wings

The Insectoplant does not have any wings. It is optional for them to still have a backpack or not.

Alternate Types
Non-Insectoid Wings

Non-Insectoid Wings (Rare)

Category: Wings

The Insectoplant has wings that do not match the description for any existing insectoid wing trait, such as avian wings or bat wings. It is optional for them to still have a backpack or not.

Alternate Types
Turtle Shell

Turtle Shell (Rare)

Category: Wings

The Insectoplant has a plated shell similar to those seen on turtles. Wings may still come out of Turtle Shells if the Insectoplant has them.

Alternate Types
No Backpack

No Backpack (Mutation)

Category: Wings

The Insectoplant does not have a backpack on their back. They may still have wings coming directly out of their back.

Note:

This trait is only applies if the Insectoplant does not have No Wings or Non-Insectoid Wings but still has no backpack. If they have either of those traits, this trait is not necessary.

Alternate Types

Silk Pack (AT) (Mandatory)

Category: Wings
Species: Aratela

The Insectoplant has a “backpack” made out of silk instead of a traditional backpack, which is used for storing their additional legs and wings.

Note:

This trait only applies to Aratelas.

Web Wings (AT) (Common)

Category: Wings
Species: Aratela

The Insectoplant has wings made out of silk that can be used to glide but not fly. They can be tucked in and out of Silk Packs.

Note:

This trait only applies to Aratelas.

Cape Wings (AT) (Uncommon)

Category: Wings
Species: Aratela

The Insectoplant has large, cape-shaped wings made out of silk that hang from a Silk Pack. They can be used to glide but not fly.

Note:

This trait only applies to Aratelas.

Flap Wings (AT) (Uncommon)

Category: Wings
Species: Aratela

The Insectoplant has short, small wings made out of silk that leave them mostly flightless. They can either glide very short distances or not at all. Their legs tend to hang out from underneath the wings due to lack of Silk Pack coverage.

Note:

This trait only applies to Aratelas.

Leg Wings (AT) (Rare)

Category: Wings
Species: Aratela

The Insectoplant has silk webbing between the legs coming out of their Silk Pack, forming wings that allow the Insectoplant to fly and glide for long distances. These wings can not tuck into the Silk Pack due to their size.

Note:

This trait only applies to Aratelas.
